When you think… how are you actually thinking? In the language you speak of course. Whether it’s English, Spanish, German, whatever. That’s how you are thinking, maybe about that really fun time at that one party, or a romantic moment with someone. Now I’m by no means an expert on animals, but it seems to me that when a dog is barking or a cat meows they aren’t really communicating. I think that this is more of a means of drawing attention rather than a form of communication.
well in the same basic thought process how do people who don’t learn a language think? In the past there have been people found that grew up away from civilization. I had to read about several of those cases in my sociology and psychology courses. Maybe they think using picture-like thoughts instead of words.
I would have to say I agree with that. Instead of thinking about what they are going to do and planning it out in their head with words they just imagine how it would happen with pictures. Maybe life would be much simpler and more honest if that’s how everyone thought. We seem to like complicating our lives with all these manmade problems, if we didn’t have a language to think them up maybe they would never exist.
